Before the training, Julie Wynn from Electronic Arts gave the teachers who were sponsored by IBM and EA a tour of the facility, and a chance to eat and shop at their cafeteria and store. The food was good and the shopping even better, they gave us hefty discounts we could not refuse.

We would like to thank the SMCOE for allowing us to host our MOUSE Squad of California training in their offices/computer lab in Redwood Shores.

They will get back to you and set up an online demonstration with you logging on to a site that they will email to you.

Over the phone and with a PC, the IT person at MyTechDesk will show you her screen and help you navigate the

online digital helpdesk through Citrix. My students had a chance to see first hand, how digital conferences can he held

and how online demonstrations can be held over the internet.

On board our MOUSE Squad of California growing staff this summer are Marci Barton, our graduate student intern from San Jose State University, specializing in standardization of written website information and Katie Cornejo, our new interim Volunteer Coordinator. We say happy trails to Edith Barr, our wonderful former volunteer coordinator who will work for RAFT (Resource Area for Teachers).

On June 28th, Mouse Squad student Daniel Brusilovsky thanked the Lions Clubs of San Mateo and Foster City for sponsoring Aragon High School students and providing the event sponsorship monies to pay for the musical talent that was featured during the MOUSE Squad Summit at the Computer History Museum last June 1st. Jan Half and Candy Bandong presented a certificate of appreciation to both clubs for their support last year.

We have new sites doing MOUSE Squad this summer, students at Monterey County Alternative Education at Rancho Cielo and summer students at Del Campo High School will be taking the course.

SUMMIT and RECEPTION at the COMPUTER HISTORY MUSEUM, Mt. View, CA June 1st 2007

Our June 1st at the Computer History Museum in Mt. View was a resounding success. We had our summit conference and volunteer reception featuring our faculty advisors and community partners. Students from Crittenden Middle School and Aragon High School were featured in the question and answer portion, Risa Sackman and Ted Bongiovanni flew from MOUSE Squad New York to do the teacher certification training.

Our event sponsors were Accenture, Robert Half Technology, The Computer History Museum and the Lions Club of San Mateo. Program sponsors this year were Xilinx, IBM, the Lions Clubs of Foster City and San Mateo and the Foster City Police Officers’ Association.
